Sleepy Sunday

Sassafrass takes her Sunday afternoon siesta on the coverlet I’ve dumped on the floor (as Sunday is also laundry day and my sheets are in the washing machine).  She has her front leg extended as far as she can not just to show off her pretty white toes, but to ensure her claim to the most comfortable spot in my bedroom.

No room there for Nekoka!  He has to make due with the rather dirty carpet.  But at least his butt is in sunshine!

He’s wearing his sad sack expression to make sure I understand how mean Sassafrass is keeping him off the coverlet.  I’ll have to sneak him some catnip later to make up for her selfishness.

Meanwhile, downstairs, the parrots give themselves a thorough preening.  Although Merlin has top position, Bandit is really in charge here.  He just wanted a better position for showing off his beautiful new tail feather that has finally grown in.

And what am I doing while my littler goobers laze around?  Laundry, cage cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, and the bills.  I live to serve.

What would we do with our time, if not to serve? Don’t answer that. Best not to go there. Think what a stale, flat, unprofitable life that would be.

Sassafrass is quite the pretty kitty. Maybe one day she’ll learn that the more kitties you share a nap spot with, the comfier it will be. I, like Nekoka, appreciate the feel of sun on my back.

Merlin & Bandit are gorgeous. I guess birds like to bathe and preen just as much as kitties.

Yes, my house is as full of feathers as it is of cat hair from the incessant grooming going on! Sass does love her brother Neko, she just loves spreading out on her own personal spot more 🙂
